Poster Session Presenters

Wendi Ackerman, MLS, is Deputy Director at the Upstate Health Sciences Library in Syracuse. She has been with SUNY libraries since 1999, beginning her career at SUNY Oswego before transitioning to Upstate in 2003. She has worked in several capacities at the Upstate Library, including reference, web services, electronic resources; collection development and assessment, but just recently began her adventures in ILL when she assumed supervision of that area a little over a year ago.

Dana Antonucci-Durgan is the Head Librarian at the Eastern Campus Library of Suffolk County Community College.

Brendan Aucoin is an Adjunct Librarian at SUNY Cobleskill and MSIS student at SUNY Albany. Brendan has both a Masters and Bachelors in English and in addition to librarianship is an Adjunct Professor of Communications at SUNY Oneonta. He has presented extensively with both the NEMLA and PCA/ACA. Brendan is currently working toward completing his MSIS in hopes of getting a real job as an Information Literacy Librarian

Katherine Brent received her MSIS from the University at Albany in 2004 and has been the Circulation and ILL Librarian at SUNY Cobleskill since 2008. She has been doing displays in the library since she became an adjunct there in 2005.

Jenny Collins is a reference and instruction librarian at SUNY Delhi. Her professional interests include information and technology literacy and issues of intellectual property and scholarly publishing.

Tiffany Davis received her B.A. in History from Siena College in 2009 and her M.S.I.S. from SUNY Albany in 2010. She is employed at Mount Saint Mary College in Newburgh, NY as the Librarian for Curriculum Services.

Katie DeRusso is the Instructional Design Librarian at SUNY Cobleskill where she leads the information literacy program and is liaison to the Agricultural Engineering and Agriculture and Food Management departments. Katie also works with the Center for Excellence in Learning and Teaching (CELT) to assist faculty with designing assignments and implementing technologies to enhance the critical thinking and information literacy instruction delivered to SUNY Cobleskill students.

Michelle Eichelberger is the Systems and Electronic Services Librarian at Genesee Community College. Prior to her employment at GCC, she was the Automated Systems and Technical Services Librarian at Finger Lakes Community College and a Reference Librarian at Penn State Altoona.

Carol Anne Germain is an Information Literacy Librarian. She teaches information literacy courses, participates in reference, and develops web-based instructional resources. She is one of the co-creators of CitationFox, a citation tool developed at the University at Albany. Her research includes usability, URL persistence in academic resources, and information literacy.

Cary Gouldin is an Assistant Librarian in the Reference Department of the University at Albany Libraries, where she manages the Libraries’ social media precedence. She received her MSIS from the University at Albany in May 2013.

Jennifer Farquhar is Associate Professor of Library Services. Chair of Library Information Literacy committee.

Stephanie Herfel Kinsler joined the SUNY Orange library faculty in 2011 as the user services librarian at the Newburgh Campus. Over the past few years, she has taught approximately 100 one-shot library research sessions.

Alex Hoag is a graduate student in library science and English.

Johanna MacKay is an Instruction/Reference Librarian at Suffolk County Community College.

Sarah Morehouse has been an Information Resources Coordinator at Empire State College for going on 8 years. Her main interests are information literacy, instructional design and andragogy, and copyright. She is also in the Curriculum Development and Instructional Technology grad program at U. Albany.

Rebecca Nous joined University at Albany in 2012 as an electronic resources manager, and was recently appointed the Catalog Management Librarian. She earned her MSIS from University at Albany and a BA in Economics from New York University.

Sara Parme is the Digital Services Librarian at SUNY Fredonia. She received her M.L.I.S. from the University of Pittsburgh.

Rachel Santose is the Instruction and Assessment Assistant Librarian at SUNY Canton College of Technology. She started her position at the end of October 2013 after graduating from Indiana University, Bloomington in August 2013 with her M.A. in History and M.L.S. She received her undergraduate degree in History and Civil War Era Studies from Gettysburg College in Gettysburg, PA.

Kate Seidlinger is a M.S.I.S. graduate student at the University at Albany and plans to graduate in August 2014. She is a graduate assistant for the University Library’s Reference Department and works at the Bethlehem Public Library as a circulation clerk. She has worked on a variety of projects for the University Library this semester including a graphic novel display.

Abigail Simkovic is a graduate student who is working on her Masters’ in Information Science and English at the University at Albany. She worked as a graduate assistant in the Reference Department at the University Library during the 2013-2014 academic year.

Jessica Spooner is the Technical Services Librarian at SUNY Canton’s Southworth Library Learning Commons, and is responsible for Cataloging, Serials, and Electronic Resources. She earned her MLIS at University at Buffalo, and started working at Southworth in 2005.

Mary Timmons is the MulitCampus Outreach Librarian at Monroe Community College She is the liaison to a variety of traditional and non-traditional teaching departments including public safety training, automotive and applied technologies.

Paul Turano is a professional assistant in the Media Services Department at Suffolk County Community College.

Susan Wood is a Media Librarian at Suffolk County Community College.

Cori Wilhelm is the Assistant Director of Library Services at SUNY Canton’s Southworth Library Learning Commons, and is responsible for Circulation, Reserves, and Outreach. She earned her MLIS at University at Buffalo, and started working at Southworth in 2012.
