Greetings!
The 41st annual conference of the State University of New York Librarians Association (SUNYLA) entitled “SUNY Libraries: Keeping the Fire, Lighting the Way” will be held this year from June 17 through June 19, 2009 on the campus of Onondaga Community College. The SUNYLA Conference Planning Committee would like to offer your organization the opportunity to become a corporate sponsor of the conference. Sponsorship is an excellent way to stand out from other conference exhibitors by generating visibility and showing your support for SUNY libraries. Corporate sponsorship can be accomplished by:
A sponsorship of a conference event (full or co-sponsorship) (see attached)
A cash donation in support of the conference
A donation of products or services to be used in giveaways at the conference or the donation of small items with your corporate or product logo that could be distributed to conference attendees. (Typically 200 librarians attend the conference.)
Preliminary Information for Exhibitors
The exhibitor fee is $225. The fee is waived for sponsors who contribute $1,000 or more. Registration fee and meals for one company representative are included in the exhibitor’s fee. You will be sent an invoice for the pricing of items you choose prior to the conference.
Please return the vendor registration form (available at http://www.sunyla.org/joomlaprod/ sunyla-2009-vendor-information.html) with your check by March 31, 2009 to reserve your space.
Please note that space is limited at this year’s conference, and slots are already filling up; we will close when the number of vendor slots available has been met. I will be contacting all vendor representatives after the deadline (March 31) with more details about special events, meals, and housing.
Vendors, exhibits, registration, and poster sessions will be located in the Whitney Applied Technology Center where all conference sessions will be held. Whitney is also the closest building to the residence halls, where participants will be staying, and conference attendees must travel through the exhibit area to reach conference sessions. In addition, breaks will be held in the exhibit area, giving exhibitors several opportunities to speak and socialize with representatives from many SUNY campus libraries. Staff from the Office of Library and Information Services (OLIS), who make consortial purchases for SUNY libraries, will also be at this conference. An acknowledgment of all corporate donations and sponsorships will appear in the conference program.
This is a great way to support SUNY libraries and librarians as well as time enhance your organization’s image. Thank you in advance for your help! We hope to see you at the 2009 SUNYLA Annual Conference in Syracuse.
Sincerely,
Angela Weiler
Vice President/Conference Chair
